Microsoft is discontinuing Exchange Web Services (EWS) in Exchange Online

Impact on iQ.Suite

Microsoft has announced the gradual decommissioning of the Exchange Web Services (EWS) interface for Exchange Online. EWS will be deactivated in Exchange Online starting in October 2026 and will be completely shut down by 2027 at the latest.

iQ.Suite installations that use Exchange Online and employ Clerk Synchronization or Copy-to-Mailbox features must migrate to Microsoft Graph.

No action is currently required for iQ.Suite environments with on-premises Microsoft Exchange Server.

GBS is currently working on an iQ.Suite version that provides optimal support for the Microsoft Graph interface.
Microsoft has not yet fully provided all the necessary functionalities for the planned migration.

Important Notice:

There is a grace period during which EWS will continue to function if you explicitly re-enroll. However, this option is only temporary and will end in April 2027. It serves as a transitional solution, not a permanent one. In the long term, applications must be migrated to Microsoft Graph.

iQ.Suite SASI Daemon Docker Image

As of iQ.Suite for Microsoft Exchange 21.1, a new SASI Daemon Engine is integrated in addition to the previous Sophos Anti Spam Engine. Therefor a Docker image is needed. (Support for the previous Sophos SASI Engine ends on September 1, 2024.)

The iQ.Suite SASI Daemon Docker Image is available via Docker Hub.

SQLite Datenbank Cleanup Fix (807.07 KB)

Problem description:

Affects iQ.Suite versions > 21.0.5 when using SQLite databases. When deleting LocItem entries from SQLite quarantine databases, the associated LocItemDetails entries are not deleted automatically. For existing SQLite databases, a PowerShell script can be run to clean orphaned entries manually.

Latest support information

iQ.Suite - AvPack License - Issue from December 7, 2025

Problem:
In some older iQ.Suite versions, as well as in discontinued versions, the license for the unpacker (avpack.key) had expired.

Solution:
Update iQ.Suite to current, supported versions (GBS Portal)

GBS Support has provided a solution or workaround for affected customers with supported iQ.Suite versions.

iQ.Suite WebClient with Microsoft Entra ID login

If you use the iQ.Suite WebClient together with the Microsoft Entra ID login process, we recommend that you install a current WebClient version (>=22.2.3 or >=21.2.9).

The latest iQ.Suite WebClient versions contain an important security fix.

Microsoft Graph replaces Azure Active Directory Graph

Microsoft has discontinued the use of Azure Active Directory Graph on June 30, 2022.

As of iQ.Suite Microsoft 20.1 Azure AD Graph in iQ.Suite will be completely converted to Microsoft Graph.

Microsoft Access Database Engine

The Microsoft Access Database Engine (AccessDatabaseEngine_X64.exe) is installed in the iQ.Suite Setup. If an error occurs during the installation and the database engine is not installed correctly, it is possible to install this engine separately afterwards.

Solution

Microsoft Access Database Engine

Please download the 64-bit setup from the Microsoft website.

For installation: Open a Windows command prompt or PowerShell, change to the folder in which the setup is saved and start the setup with the following command line:
AccessDatabaseEngine_X64.exe /quiet
